During the 1960s, CAI Florence documented a winter ascent in the Apuan Alps on 8mm sound film. The amateur filmmaker introduces the sequence with an off-screen commentary: the group prepares at the foot of the "direttissima" route to Pania della Croce, one of the classic ascents in the area.
