In March 1961, CAI Florence documented an 8mm sound recording of the traverse from Doganaccia to Maresca. The images show hikers advancing in deep snow, filmed from above as they climb the snowy slopes under a clear sun. Among fresh footprints and mountaineering equipment, the vibrant colors of their clothes stand out against the white landscape; there is even a participant in short pants despite the season. The camera alternates panoramic views of the Apennine peaks with close-ups of the walkers, accompanied by off-screen music. The sequence closes with shots from below of skiers descending the slope, completing the story of a day in the mountains featuring hiking and skiing.
