In 1983, Don Fornasari films a hike on Monte Menegosa, in the Piacenza Apennines. The sequence opens with the summit glimpsed through the trees and close-ups of flowers dotting the trail. A group of young hikers progresses through the forest and then across more barren stretches, ascending the rocky slope toward the peak. From above, expansive views of the valley unfold, while wrought-iron crosses mark the summit. The footage lingers on the exposed edges of the ridge and on a natural rock arch, through which a young hiker photographs his companions and the valley below.
