The Vicoforte Sanctuary, hosting Vittorio Emanuele III?s corpse, last king of Italy, is a construction of a most travailed history, being taken more than two centuries to be finished. The joke, almost, is that at the beginning of the 20th Century the baroque pinnacles on top of the bell towers were removed ? today they are indeed missing ? due to stability issues. They almost couldn?t finish it that it was already being dismantled.
