In 1956, Luigi Grassi documented the atmosphere of the VII Winter Olympic Games in Cortina d’Ampezzo. The excerpt opens with a panoramic view of the town, festively decorated with national flags and the Olympic rings adorning the streets. The camera then moves inside the Olympic Ice Stadium to follow the hockey tournament. The event, hosted for the first time in Italy, held a triple historical significance: in addition to the Olympic title, it also served as the 23rd World Championship and the 34th European Championship under the auspices of the IIHF.
