In the summer of 1967, Giuseppe Lenzi documented in 8mm a difficult attempted ascent of Mont Blanc, part of the amateur film "Two Weeks in Aosta Valley". The images, accompanied by his voice-over commentary, convey the fatigue and uncertainty of the progression at high altitude: two hours of marching on the Miage glacier, among crevasses and steep slopes, with the weather worsening and slowing the advance. Lenzi and his companion Lucio observe other mountaineers tackle a particularly delicate passage, digging every step with an ice axe, before prudently deciding to give up and turn back. This is followed by images of the long descent towards the hut, the stop to refresh, and the return to the glacier, while fog envelops the mountains. The film recounts a mountain experience marked by limits, the choice not to take risks, and the intensity of the adventure.
