The Chairlift to Mount Solaro
tipologia
8mm - HMBELLALD-013
In April 1971, Aldo Bellavia filmed the chairlift ascent towards Mount Solaro, the highest peak on the island of Capri at 589 meters. The camera follows the cabins climbing the hill through the Mediterranean vegetation, capturing the slope and the movement of people towards the summit. From above, a breathtaking panorama opens up: the rocky coast, the expanse of the sea, and the white buildings scattered on the slopes that descend towards the sea. Among the shots emerge the famous Faraglioni, majestic rock formations rising from the sea, and glimpses of the distant horizon, with the coastline and other islands on the horizon.
