In 1970, Tullio Rigacci documented an excursion in the Tofane area, Eastern Dolomites, west of Cortina d'Ampezzo. The camera alternates panoramas of the imposing “Tre Sorelle” (Three Sisters) and surrounding peaks with scenes of hikers walking on rocky paths and scree slopes. Among the images, the old Cantore Hut stands out, built in 1886... The structure, now fallen into ruins, appears in the historical context of mountaineering and military activities in the area, before the construction of the Camillo Giussani Hut inaugurated in 1972. The footage also captures moments of relaxation: a man and a woman are lying on a boulder in the sun, enjoying the summer light among the rocks.
