In 1959, a group of young people were on an excursion near the Guido Lorenzi Hut, perched near the Forcella Staunìes, a pass between the northwest peak of Cristallo and Cristallino d’Ampezzo, close to the arrival station of the Valgrande-Staunìes cable car. Panoramic views from above show Mount Cristallo, Mount Antelao, and a funicular nearby. The hut, now closed, remains a historic and evocative spot in the heart of the Dolomites.
