In 1956, Nicola Tocco documented a family trip to Erice. The walk leads to the Castle of Venus (Castello di Venere), perched atop the mountain, among ancient walls and a panorama that opens up over the entire valley and the sea. The Castle of Venus dominates Erice from a solitary cliff located on the south-eastern side of the mountain, at over 750 meters of altitude.
