In 1955, Mario De Riso documented a mountaineering excursion in the Lys Valley—also known as the Gressoney Valley—in the Aosta Valley, within the Monte Rosa area. The camera follows Teresa and De Riso along trails that wind through alpine pastures and forests, crossing small bridges and passing grazing cows. As the hike progresses, grassy meadows give way to rocky terrain, snowfields, and glaciers, revealing the harsh environment of high altitude. The group stops at the Chapel of Saint Anne in Alpe Sitten (2,172 m), from which a wide panorama opens: to the south, the valley descends toward Gressoney-La-Trinité and Gressoney-Saint-Jean, while to the north rises the imposing Monte Rosa massif, from Punta Castore to the Vincent Pyramid.
