On April 11, 1981, during the blessing of the large metal cross on Monte Sant’Angelo, on the Picco Sant’Angelo of the Sorrento Peninsula, Ermanno Acanfora documents a moment of intense community participation. In voice-over, he recounts how, alongside spontaneous processions of local citizens, a Via Crucis also began. The large cross, visible from the coast and a cherished symbol of the community, is restored after damage caused by the November 1980 earthquake. Citizens and worshippers gather around enthusiastically, taking part in a shared moment of devotion and witnessing the strength of tradition and collective memory.
