The sequence shows the movement of the chairs and the island’s landscape in a setting that no longer exists, as the chairlift was closed and dismantled in the early 1970s. Montagnone, with its privileged view over the island, was one of Ischia’s most picturesque spots: a place of pleasant memories but also of dramatic events, such as the accident on July 11, 1961, when a two-seater chair fell about six meters due to the detachment of a pin.
