In the 1960s, the amateur filmmaker Loris Balandi filmed friends and family on an excursion to the Cross of Punta Sofia, on Corno alle Scale in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. The footage shows the group walking along the trails up to the large metal cross that dominates the landscape. The weather is mild, the springtime vegetation and light clothing suggest a hike likely reached by chairlift. In the background, views open up of the Apennine peaks and the surrounding valleys.
